Q: How can I purchase CCMB stocks?
A: Just visit one of Capital & Credit Securities offices at 18 Trafalgar Road in Kingston or 25 Church Street, Montego Bay; lodge funds into a trading account, and give us your trading instructions. You may also purchase CCMB stocks by visiting any other broker of your choice in Jamaica or Trinidad. Trading days in Trinidad are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 9:30am. You can also fax your trading instructions to your broker.

Q: Can I purchase CCMB stocks on other stock exchanges outside of Jamaica through Capital & Credit Securities Ltd?
A: Capital & Credit can facilitate the purchase of stocks on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange through two stock brokers in Trinidad. You will be required to open an account with any one of these brokers; or at any of our offices in Kingston or Montego Bay.

Q: Is there a minimum number of CCMB stocks one has to purchase?
A: The minimum number of stocks that can be purchased on the Jamaica Stock Exchange is 100 units.

Q: How much money do I need to purchase CCMB stocks?
A: Like other stocks, the price of CCMB stock is market determined, and vary based on the demand and supply on each trading day. You will also have to include the applicable fees for each stock trade.

Q: What are the different types of stocks available in Jamaica?
A: Two types of stocks trade on the Jamaica Stock Exchange - ordinary shares and preference shares. These stocks can be classified into a number of different groups: Banking and Financial Services, Manufacturing, Communication, Tourism, Trading, Conglomerates, Insurance and Other Services

Q: How do I make money on the Stock Market?
A: You make money in the stock market when you buy stocks at a particular price and sell them back at a higher price. If you buy a stock at $1.00 and the stock price increases to $5.00 you have made an unrealized gain of $4.00. If you sell the stock at $5.00 you have realized that gain and made a profit of $4.00

Q: Can I purchase CCMB stocks on line locally?
A: At this time there is no facility in place to trade stocks on the Jamaica Stock Exchange using the internet.

Q: Do I get a share certificate when I purchase CCMB stocks?
A: When CCMB stocks or any others stocks are purchased you do not receive a stock certificate. Your stock certificate is held in safekeeping for you at the Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD). The JCSD will send you a statement showing how many stocks you have and the value of these stocks. This information can also be provided to you by your stock broker.

Q: When I purchase CCMB stocks, when do I pay for them?
A: Before you can place an order with Capital & Credit Securities Ltd. to purchase CCMB stocks, we require that you lodge funds, equal to the value of the shares into an investment account. The funds will be deducted from this interest-bearing account on the settlement date, which is the transaction date plus three business days.

Q: When I sell CCMB stocks how soon can I access the funds?
A: In Jamaica you can access these funds three (3) business days after the trade has been executed. In Trinidad, trading days at Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You may therefore access funds three (3) business days after trading on the Trinidad Stock Exchange.

Q: Where in Jamaica can I purchase CCMB stocks?
A: In order to purchase stocks, you may lodge funds in a trading account at Capital & Credit Securities, 18 Trafalgar Road in Kingston or 25 Church Street, Montego Bay You may also visit a broker of your choice in Jamaica and give him your trading instructions.

You may purchase CCMB shares through a broker of your choice in Trinidad. Capital & Credit can also facilitate the purchase of stocks on the Trinidad Stock Exchange through two stock brokers in Trinidad.
