PROFILE
Capital & Credit Merchant Bank (CCMB) is a subsidiary of Capital
& Credit Financial Group Limited (formerly Capital & Credit
Holdings Ltd). The Bank is engaged primarily in the business of Merchant and
Investment Banking. This includes deposit taking and the issuance of credit.
CCMB is licensed under the Financial Institutions Act,
and is regulated by the Bank of Jamaica and the Financial Services Commission.
The Bank is an Authorized Foreign Exchange Dealer, and is also approved by the
Development Bank of Jamaica and the EXIM Bank as an authorized lender. CCMB is
a member of the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Corporation scheme (JDIC).
Capital & Credit Merchant Bank is listed on the
Jamaica Stock Exchange and the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange. As at
December 2005, 72.77% of its shares were owned by CCFG (the parent) and the
balance publicly held by stockholders in Jamaica and Trinidad.
The Bank has two subsidiaries, Capital & Credit
Securities Ltd (CCSL) and Capital & Credit Fund Managers Ltd. (CCFM). CCSL
is licensed under the Securities Act and is regulated by the Financial Services
Commission and the Jamaica Stock Exchange; while CCFM is licensed under the
Unit Trust Act and is also regulated by the Financial Services Commission.
CCSL's principal activities are securities
trading, stock-broking, portfolio planning and pension fund management, while
CCFM is primarily engaged in the management of the Jamaica Investment Fund and
the selling of units to the public on the Fund’s behalf.
